Sheel Tyle is a Principal at New Enterprise Associates, the world’s largest venture capital firm with portfolio companies including Uber, Coursera, Robinhood, Buzzfeed, and Bridge International Academies. At NEA, he leads the seed practice and looks closely at emerging markets, specifically Nigeria, Kenya, India, Brazil, and Southeast Asia. Prior to NEA, Sheel was at Bessemer Venture Partners where he co-led BVP’s 2011 investment in Snapdeal, now India’s largest e-commerce marketplace and currently valued at over $6 billion. He is on the Board of Directors for Andela (a for-profit education company in Nigeria & Kenya) and other startups globally. He was previously on the business development team of Skybox Imaging, which was acquired by Google in 2014 for $500 million.
Sheel is also the founder of S2 Capital, a social impact micro-fund focused on young entrepreneurs in the developing world. Sheel graduated from Stanford University in three years, at the age of 19. He on the Forbes 30 under 30 list for finance in 2013.
